So I have this story and I don't know what to do with it. I figured that I'd just start sharing it, and if you like it you can follow along.
I've written and rewritten this thing a lot. Technically, this is now the fourth fifth draft of the most recent iteration, but I've been working on this story idea and the characters for a few years, even when I couldn't write.
So what's it about?
I like to do "what-if" stories, and I really like the idea of playing with the themes of powerlessness vs. power.
In this case, what if the world at large was incredibly individualistic? There are few laws, and what rules exist are strictly to protect individual interests. There are three:

In this world, you must work for survival. There are no social safety nets. If one isn't working then they are of no value to society.
